Theft Investigation Charges Laid
The Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft in progress on Blossom Ridge in New Sarum around 7:10 a.m. on December 2, 2019.
A witness observed a person enter a shed and remove property then leave into another home in the area.
Police were able to locate and charge a 26-year-old St. Thomas, Ontario resident with:
- Theft under $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
The accused was arrested without incident and is scheduled to appear at the St. Thomas Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
Police are reminding residence to keep outbuildings and sheds locked. These property crimes are ones of opportunity.
