On the 27th of March 2021 at 7:21 pm., Aylmer Police was conducting RIDE initiative in the area of Talbot Street East at Elk Street in the Town of Aylmer. At approximately 7:25 pm., officer could hear loud acceleration of an engine and observed a black 2007 Ford pick up on Elk Street doing a ‘burn out’ on the roadway. The vehicles tires were spinning and thick black smoke was rising in the air. The vehicle then continued westbound on Elk Street. Elk Street is a residential street with homes on either side of the road with a posted speed limit of 50km/h. An elementary school is also on Elk Street where a community safety zone is in place with a posted speed limit of 40km/h. Officer proceeded to stop the vehicle and spoke to 39-year-old male driver from St. Thomas. Male was charged with stunt driving and his license was suspended for 7 days.
