The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen vehicle being driven on Highway 401 westbound near Putnam Road, Thames Centre, Ontario on November 3, 2019 around 8:40 p.m.

Officers with the Elgin County OPP and Middlesex County OPP utilized a tire deflation device (spike belt) and the vehicle came to a safe stop west of the Colonel Talbot Road overpass.

As a result, the passenger, 19-year-old Nikoletta BARI of Scarborough, Ontario was charged with Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the London Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

The driver was later located with the assistance of the OPP Canine Unit.  Drekwon PITAWANAKWAT, 24-year-old, of Toronto, Ontario is charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Fail to comply with recognizance

The accused attended a bail hearing at the London Ontario Court of Justice on November 4, 2019.
