Speeding Leads to Multiple Charges

On Saturday, May 9th, 2020 at approximately 7:20 am, an Aylmer Police officer conducted stationary speed enforcement on Talbot Street East.  A Dodge Ram was observed travelling eastbound on Talbot St E, and the vehicle was timed on radar travelling 23 km/h above the posted speed limit of 50km/h.  A traffic stop was initiated, and further investigation determined there was no valid contract of insurance on the motor vehicle. As a result, a 20 year old male from Norwich has been charged with Speeding 73km/h in a posted 50km/h zone, contrary to s.128 of the Highway Traffic Act, Owner operate motor vehicle on a highway – no insurance contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act, and Drive motor vehicle – Fail to display two plates contrary to section 7(1)(b)(i) of the Highway Traffic Act.
