RIDE Check Results in an Impaired Driving Charge

On the 19th of November 2019 at approximately 9:00 pm. Aylmer Police Service was conducting a RIDE spot check at Talbot Street East and Albert Street in the Town of Aylmer. At approximately 9:08 pm officers stopped a 2010 Ford F-150 pick-p truck being operated by a 44-year-old male from Aylmer. Officer detected an odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver. Roadside demand and test was administered resulting in reading of FAIL. Further tests at the station revealed readings greater than 80 mgs. Of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. As a result, male driver was charged with operation while impaired –blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.
