On 13th of May 2022 at 11:28 am., Aylmer Police responded to Pedestrian vs. motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Talbot St. West and Elm St. Aylmer ON. Police investigation revealed that a 2011 Volkswagen being operated by a 25 year old female from Malahide was south bound on Elm St. and stopped for a controlled red traffic light at the intersection. A 16 year old male pedestrian was at the intersection waiting for the light to turn green so he could cross the road. As the light turned green, driver of the Volkswagen proceeded to turn left on to Talbot St. At the same time, pedestrian proceeded to walk across the road and was struck by the car. The force of impact threw the pedestrian against the windshield of the car causing it to crack. Pedestrian sustained injuries to his arm and elbow. He was treated and released at the scene by EMS. Driver of the vehicle was charged with failing to yield to pedestrian.
