Multiple Motor Vehicle Collisions

Motor Vehicle Collision results in several charges;

On May 18th 2021 at approximately 2:55 pm., Aylmer Police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Talbot St. West and Caverly Rd. Town of Aylmer ON. Police investigation revealed that a 2016 Dodge SUV being operated by a 44-year-old female from St. Thomas was East Bound on Talbot St. West stopped for a red light at the intersection. A 2015 GMC being operated by a 57-year-old female from Central Elgin was also East Bound directly behind the 2016 Dodge when she failed to stop and rear-ended the stopped vehicle. Officer on the scene detected an odour of alcoholic beverage on the breath of the 57-year-old female who was operating the 2015 GMC and as a result, roadside test was administered. Female failed to provide a suitable sample. As a result of the collision and subsequent investigation, the female has been charged with;

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver
  • Careless driving

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage to the rear and front and had to be towed from the scene.

 


 

Single motor vehicle collision results in several charges;

On 18th of May 2021 at approximately 5:46 pm., Aylmer Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on St. Andrew St. Aylmer ON. Police investigation revealed that a 2000 Kawasaki motorcycle being operated by a 44-year-old male was North Bound on St. Andrew St. The driver accelerated at high rate of speed and lost control of the motorcycle causing it to fishtail and crash. A 54-metre skid mark was observed on the roadway prior to the motorcycle coming to a rest in the middle of St. Andrew St. The driver sustained serious injury to his leg and was transported to Victoria Hospital for treatment. As a result of the collision the male was charged with;

  • Careless Driving
  • Operate Motor Vehicle without insurance
  • Use plate not authorized
  • Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner
  • Drive motor vehicle – improper licence

 


 

Motor Vehicle Collision;

On 23rd of May 2021 at approximately 10:39 am., Aylmer Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on John St. North at Glencolin Line Aylmer ON. Police investigation revealed that a 2017 Mercedes C4A being driven by a 60-year-old female from Hanover was South Bound on John St. North and stopped for traffic ahead. A 2018 Dodge Ram being operated by a 57-year-old male from Springfield was also South Bound on John St. directly behind the Mercedes. The driver of the pick up rear ended the Mercedes resulting in moderate damage to the rear and front ends of the vehicles involved. Male was charged with careless Driving.
