Multiple Motor Vehicle Collisions

On Monday, July 26th, 2021 at approximately 5:19 pm., Aylmer Police at the request of OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Glen Colin Line and John St. North Aylmer ON. Police investigation revealed that a 2000 Peterbuilt transport being operated by a 45 year old male from Aylmer was North Bound on John St. North. A 2011 GMC Terrain being operated by a 51 year old female from Aylmer was West Bound on Glen Colin Line and stopped for a posted stop sign. The female proceeded into the intersection before way was clear and was struck by the transport truck. She sustained minor injuries and was transported to St. Thomas Hospital for treatment. Both Vehicles sustained moderate damage and had to be towed from the scene. The female was charged with failing to yield to traffic on through highway.


On Monday, 26 July 2021 at about 5:30 pm Aylmer Police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Talbot St. West at Caverly Rd. Police investigation revealed that a 2013 Toyota being driven by a 32 year old female from Straffordville was East Bound on Talbot St. approaching a traffic light at the intersection. A 2013 Dodge being driven by a 21 year old male from Aylmer was also East Bound behind the 2013 Toyota. Driver of the Toyota stopped for the red light and was struck from behind by the 2013 Dodge. Both Vehicles sustained moderate damage. Male driver was charged with Careless Driving.


On 31st of July 2021 at approximately 2:36 am., at the request of OPP Aylmer Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Talbot Line just west of Orwell. Police investigation revealed that a 1984 GMC Van being driven by a 19 year old male from Tillsonburg left the roadway and entered the North Side ditch. Roadside breath test resulted in a reading of 47 mgs. of alcohol in 100 ml. of blood. As a result, male was charged with Young driver – B.A.C. above zero. No injuries were reported and damage to the vehicle was minimal.
