Motor Vehicle Collisions

On May 27th, 2020, at 12:28 pm. Aylmer police were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of Talbot Street East and Queen Street. Police investigation revealed that 2008 Dodge Charger being operated by a 17-year-old male from Straffordville was eastbound on Talbot St E. A 2016 Dodge Durango being operated by a 28-year-old female from Aylmer was also East bound on Talbot St. E. The driver slowed down to turn left onto Queen Street.

The male driver of the Charger, failed to slow down for the vehicle ahead resulting in a rear end collision. The 2008 Dodge Charger sustained moderate damage to the front end and had to be towed away from the scene. The 2016 Dodge Durango sustained moderate damage to the rear end. No injuries were reported. As a result of the collision, 17-year-old male was charged with: Owner operate motor vehicle – no insurance, Careless Driving and Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by a qualified driver.

 

Then on May 28th 2020 at 3:13 pm. Aylmer Police responded to a 3 vehicle collision on John St. near Progress St. Aylmer ON. Investigation revealed that a 2019 Dodge Ram being operated by a 54-year-old male from Aylmer was South Bound on John St. A 2013 Chevy CZT being operated by a 23-year-old male from Aylmer was also South bound on John St. A 2009 Dodge JOU being operated by a 33-year-old female from Aylmer was South bound on John St. and slowed down for traffic ahead and eventually came to a stop when she was rear ended by the 2019 Dodge that was directly behind her. Further, the driver of the 2013 Chevy was behind the Dodge Ram truck and also rear ended the vehicle. The force of the impact pushed the Dodge truck into the 2009 Dodge Journey causing further damage to the rear of the vehicle. As a result of the collision, 2019 Dodge Ram sustained moderate damage to the front and rear of the vehicle. The 2013 Chev sustained moderate damage to the front end. The 2009 Dodge Journey sustained minor damage to the rear end. No injuries were reported. As a result of the collision, the 54-year-old male drive and the 23-year-old male driver were both charged with Following Too Close.
