Motor Vehicle collision results in an over 80 mgs. Charge

On Friday, February 28th, 2020 at 10:22 pm. Aylmer Police responded to a fail to remain motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Talbot St. W and Wellington Aylmer ON. Investigation revealed that a 2011 Ford Focus being driven by a 33-year-old male from Dutton was West bound on Talbot St. West when he was rear ended by a 2009 Volkswagen. The driver of the Volkswagen fled the scene and was located short time later on Victoria St. 27-year-old male from Aylmer was spoken to and identified as the driver of the Volkswagen. He had an odour of alcoholic beverage on his breath and as a result, a roadside test was conducted resulting in a Fail reading. Further tests at the station revealed readings in excess of 80 mgs. Of alcohol in 100 ml. of blood. As a result, he was charged with: Impaired Operation – 80 plus Section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
