On the 16th of July 2021, at 2:39pm Aylmer officers responded to a report of a 3 vehicle collision on Talbot St. W, near the Saxonia Hall. Investigation determined that traffic had been slowing for a line of traffic entering the Tim Hortons on Talbot Street. A 39 yr old female from Woodstock was operating a 2015 Nissan on Talbot St. West, and came to a stop for the line of traffic. The Nissan contained an additional (3) passengers, (2) boys ages 5 and 11 and (1) girl age 6. A 19 yr old male from Thamesford operating a 2019 Chev Silverado pickup also traveling west on Talbot failed to see the stopped line of cars, and struck the rear end of the Nissan with great force, which caused the Nissan to be pushed forward into the rear end of a 2015 Kia. EMS and Aylmer Fire attended the scene and which resulted in (3) of the (4) passengers from the Nissan being transported to St. Thomas Elgin General with minor injuries and for observations.
The 19 yr old male from Thamesford was issued with a Provincial offences notice charged with Careless Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic. The Nissan and Chev Truck sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene.
