On the 23rd of August 2021 at 12:38 am, officers on patrol observed a 2019 Chev pickup traveling on Talbot St E. The truck pulled in the parking lot of a business that was currently closed. Officers approached the vehicle which contained 2 occupants. The driver was spoken to and police detected an odour of alcoholic beverage on his breath and requested the vehicle documents and his drivers licence. The driver exited the truck and police now observed signs of impairment and placed the driver under arrested for Impaired Operation. The male was transported to the station for the purpose of conducting breath tests which resulted in the male’s blood alcohol concentration over double the legal limit. A 32 yr old male from Aylmer was released to a future court date charged with Impaired Operation and Blood alcohol concentration in excess of 80 milligrams. The vehicle was impounded for (7) days and an immediate 90 driver’s licence suspension has been imposed.
