On the 22nd of September 2021 at 1:39 am, while on patrol, an Aylmer officer located a 2019 Nissan on the parking lot of one of the local businesses off Progress Drive Aylmer ON. Officer checked the vehicle and observed a female inside. The female refused to open the door for the officer. Shortly after, the female started the vehicle and proceeded to drive on to Progress Drive and then on to John St. Officer suspected the driver to be impaired and initiated a traffic stop by activating cruiser lights and siren. The female driver refused to stop for police and travelled through town and rural area for approximately 10.14 kilometres. Second officer on duty assisted with a tandem stop forcing the driver on to the shoulder of Talbot St. where the vehicle was brought to a stop. The driver was identified as an 18 year old female from Putnam. It appeared that she was suffering from a medical condition. EMS was contacted and transported the female to St. Thomas Hospital for an assessment. She was charged with; Flight from peace officer.
