CRA Fraud

On 31st of October 2019 at approximately 5:32 pm, Aylmer Police investigated a CRA fraud incident reported by an 82-year-old female from Aylmer ON.  Complainant reported that she was contacted by a female purported to be from Canada Revenue Agency requesting personal information including Social Insurance Number. Fortunately, the complainant did not provide SIN number but gave the caller other personal information. Residents are remained not to give out personal information over the phone. Fraudsters often use pressure and threatening tactics in an attempt to get the personal and banking information that often results in being defrauded of money.
