On October 9th 2020 at approximately 1:56 pm., Aylmer Police received a complaint from an Aylmer citizen of attempted fraud. 65-year-old male complainant advised that a male caller who identified himself as a police officer and requesting personal information has contacted him on numerous occasions. The male suspect used scare tactics in an attempt to extract personal information. Complainant took the appropriate action, did not disclose any personal information to the caller, and called Aylmer Police to report the incident. Citizens are reminded that scammers often use scare tactics such as threats of arrest of them or their family members in an attempt to obtain personal information or money from victims. Never give out your personal information or agree to transfer money and call your local police to report  the incident.
