AYLMER BALL TEAMS MEETING

(Information from Parks Supt. Thom Polland) – “The ball users meeting is Tuesday, May 8,  there was no delay or cancellation.  Everything is right on track for our groups..”

A READER WRITES:

“I could not disagree more with the information as provided by Thom Polland. I made contact with the town weeks ago and got absolutely no where.Recently, I invited the Mayor to throw the first pitch at our first ball game on Thursday May 10th and have had absolutely no response or acknowledgement. I know of at least one other parent who was a little more devoted than I, calling everyday for over a week. She was provided with every story in the book, none of them consistent or helpful in anyway. We’ll try to have as much representation as possible at the May 8th meeting  to voice our concerns.”  (Steve Benner)

AYLMER COUNCIL MONDAY:

Agenda items include:

-Results of Farmers’ Market Survey (Most want it, but few vendors will participate)

-Future of Environment Committee (Only 4 remain, no new volunteers after advertising)

A READER WRITES:

“Aylmer residents will continue to pay one of the highest if not the highest property tax rate in Ontario as a result of lack of budget cuts. The EECC continues to run massive deficits as the costs just keep piling up. At 1.71 Aylmer’s mill rate is on average 20% higher than the surrounding seven communities! This is a major deterrent when it comes to attracting new residents and as a result Aylmer has barely averaged a 1% growth rate vs competitive communities averaging almost 5%.” (Bob Warnock Aylmer Taxpayers Advisory Committee)
