CURBSIDE WEEK COMING TO BAYHAM

Bayham will hold “Curbside Days” during the week of May 21st as homeowners will be allowed to set out large household items at the  curb for others to ‘shop around’ and pick up – as long as the items are removed by the end of the week.  Bayham will also be sending their recycling materials to the new London Recycling Plant beginning June 1st –  so residents will be given new blue boxes and must now separate their paper products into a different box.  Bayham will also convert to the bag tag system similar to that introduced this week in Aylmer – boxes and tags  are being given out starting May 22.  Tags are being distributed to average 3 bags weekly but residents may put out as many bags as they wish providing they are tagged.  The cost is  1.50 for extra tags.  In the  fall Bayham will add a curbside leaf collection in villages and hamlets.  The annual Hazardous waste dropoff is coming up on May 26.

STOLEN TRUCK TO ANCASTER

(From Aylmer Police Chief Andre Reymer) – “The Dodge pickup stolen from a Moore Avenue home on April 22 was found abandoned in Ancaster two days later – the ignition of the vehicle had been punched so it could be started without a key. The allterrain vehicle which was in the back is still missing.

BAYHAM COUNCIL TODAY:

Among agenda items: – “Elgin County Library is seeking Bayham Council’s endorsement to change the name of Bayham Library to Straffordville Library. This will make the branch’s name consistent with the library’s nine other locations across the County, all of which have the name of their town / village location in their formal title. (From Brian Masschaele, Director of Community and Cultural Services, Elgin)
