SUSPICIOUS VAN IN PT. BURWELL?

(From Elgin OPP) – “Recently police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Port Burwell area. The vehicle is described as a white full sized van with black rims and tinted windows down the side. An 8 year old boy reported to his parents that on Sunday  he believes he was followed by what he described as a suspicious van down Robinson Street in Port Burwell.  Eventually the van left the area. There was no contact and no conversation between the child and the driver. The driver is described as a white male, over thirty, wearing dark clothing and ball hat, no facial hair.”

TURNING OFF SCREENS IN AYLMER

(Information from teacher Penny Timpany at McGregor School)  - “Several Aylmer area schools took on the challenge to “Turn Off the Screens” this past week to  encourage families to reduce their screen time for computers, gaming systems, TV etc. and to increase their physical activity. The program, promoted by the Elgin-St. Thomas Health Unit is called “Pause to Play”. Many schools and community partners organized free activities for families, including Zumba, Kid’s Yoga, DrumFIT, Celebrity Readers at the Library, bowling, and skating etc.  at the Complex.  Two activities, horseshoe pitching and cricket,  were postponed due to poor weather and will be rescheduled.  Free tickets for all events were made available at participating schools. Students graphed their screen time for the week and compared it to the amount of physical activity they participated in daily.”
