MONDAY NIGHT FROST DAMAGE?

 

(Information from Dick Saarloos of BerryHill Fruit Farms) – “We had some damage to the apple buds but there should be enough viable buds left to give us a reasonable crop provided that we get cooperation from mother nature.”

 

 

OBITUARIES

 

-Gray, Rev. Douglas Eric, on Monday, at Palmerston, in his 79th year. Survivors include: wife Ruby (Srigley); son Stephen (Sherry) of Aylmer etc. Visitation at the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston on Friday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Service  on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Palmerston Evangelical Missionary Church.

 

-Shackleton, Cindy Lynn,  of R.R. 4 Aylmer,  on Tuesday, in her 47th  year. Survivors include: husband Terry Shackleton;  children Devin and Stevie; mother Lenna Gray (Walker), step-father Fred Gray, step-mother Sheila Vance,  in-laws Ron and Carol Shackleton etc. Visitation at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s United Church on Saturday, at 11 a.m.

 

-Young, Ronald George,  of Calgary (formerly of Aylmer), on Friday January 13,  in his 77th year. Survivors include:  wife Marie of Aylmer; children: Deb (Brian) Acorn of Aylmer; Dale of Aylmer; Dean (friend Christina) of Aylmer, Marvin of Aylmer etc. Cremation has taken place. There will be a public graveside service at the Langton Baptist Cemetery on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 2:30 p.m.

 

 

AYLMER MUSEUM TURNS 35

 

The Aylmer Museum celebrated the opening of its 35th year of operation Saturday. “The Hydro One site is reporting a power outage in the St.Thomas region – east of Aylmer, north to Belmont and west of Dutton. 4374 customers affected.”

(Information from Dave Cryderman of Badder BusLines) – “Roads were very slippery at 5:30 this morning with the heavy wet snow. Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning wo we decided county wide to keep buses off roads today.

“The main stoplights were out for 90 minutes yesterday after lunch.”
