OBITUARIES:

 

-Granger, Loyall of Pt. Burwell passed away Wednesday in his 85th year. Survivors: wife Evelyn (McKellar) Granger; four children including Carolyn Durham(Randy) of Eden, Cheryl Hare(Bob) of R4Aylmer, David Granger(Lisa) of R2 Aylmer etc.. He was born in Copenhagen and was a diesel mechanic. The funeral was held Sunday; arrangements with the HA Kebbel Funeral Home.

 

-Seimen, John of Aylmer passed away January 2 in his 87th year. Husband of the late Maria “Mary” (Nasswetter) Seimen (2008). Survivors: two children etc.. He was born in Romania The funeral will be held today at 11 am at the HA Kebbel Funeral Home.

 

-Herries, Sarah of Aylmer passed away January 2 in her 65th year. Survivors: husband Bob Herries; daughter Brenda Close(Rob) of Port Burwell etc.. She was born in Manitoba, operated Snack ‘n Break Coffee Trucks, the XL Gas Bar and The Drive Zone Driving School, and was lead vocals/guitar in her own Country band in the Aylmer area. The funeral service was held Friday; arrangements with the HA Kebbel Funeral Home.

 

-Dance, Betty June of Terrace Lodge Aylmer and formerly of R7 Aylmer passed away December 28 in her 88th year. Wife of the late Raymond Dance(2006). Survivors: children David Dance(Karen) of Lyons, Dianne Bolton of Lyons, Charles Dance(Brenda) of R7 Aylmer and Marcia Gartly(Scott) of Belmont etc.. She was born in South Dorchester and drove school bus for 30 years. The funeral was held on December 30; arrangements with the HA Kebbel Funeral Home.

 

-Wilson, Marjorie Moore of Terrace Lodge Aylmer passed away December 28 in her 80th year. Wife of the late Roger Wilson. Survivors: son Robert (Heather) of Aylmer. She lived most of her life in Aylmer and worked at the Doris Summers Nursing Home in Aylmer. The funeral was held on January 2; arrangements with HA Kebbel Funeral Home.

 

-Kinsey, Scott of Calton passed away recently, aged 50. Survivors: parents Dick and Karen (Green) Kinsey of Calton etc.. There will be no services. Arrangements with HA Kebbel Funeral Home.

 

-Ferguson, Mildred passed away at Terrace Lodge, Aylmer on December 24 in her 95th year. She was born in South Dorchester and was a longtime resident of Wilson Line, Springfield. The funeral service was held at the HA Kebbel Funeral Home on December 28.

 

-Hoshal, Marion Emmeline (Brown) passed away on December 28 aged 101 years. Predeceased by husband Harold (1994). Survivors: three children etc.. Marion was born and raised in the Port Burwell area. Among jobs she worked at were hairdressing,  grocery store clerk,  school bus driver and  school custodian for Elgin County Board of Education.  The funeral was held December 27; arrangements with Ostrander’s Funeral Home, Tillsonburg.

 

-Woon, Rev. Jean Ann passed away December 29 aged 71 years. Predeceased by husband Ted (2017). Survivors: two children and three stepchildren etc.. The funeral service was held at Port Burwell Trinity Anglican Church Saturday; arrangements with Ostrander’s Funeral Home Tillsonburg.

USED CHRISTMAS TREES IN AYLMER

 

(Information from Rod Tapp, Aylmer’s Director of Operations) – “The Town will continue to provide a Drop-off Depot for residents to dispose of their Christmas Trees at the Parks and Recreation Parking Lot at 8 Parkview Heights. Trees may be dropped off between December 26 and January 8. All decorations etc. need to be removed including plastic bags they may be wrapped in. Trees left at the curb will not be picked up.”
