DORCHESTER 3 AYLMER 1

 

AYLMER – Aylmer Spitfires fell 3-1 to Dorchester here Saturday in Provincial Junior C hockey. Dallas Loiselle earned the only Aylmer goal. The Spitfires’ record now is 7 wins and 17 losses – giving them eighth place in the nine team league. This week the Spits have all away games – Wednesday in Lucan, Friday in North Middlesex and Saturday in Pt. Stanley.

-Dec 14, station 2 Straffordville, medical assist on Culloden Rd

-Dec 15, both stations to a MVC with extrication on Highway 3 west of Somers Rd. Injuries non-life threatening.

CORINTH – (*The call was handled by Station 2 (Straffordville) apparatus. The call came in at 6:30 pm. One vehicle went through the stop sign at Eden Road and t-boned another. The first vehicle had three people who were all out of the vehicle on our arrival. The t-boned vehicle had a child and driver.”

OBITUARY

 

Pipes, Margaret Jean (Beesley) of St.Thomas passed away Sunday, aged 91. Survivors: husband William; four children including Linda (Tom) Charlton of Aylmer etc.. A celebration of Jean’s life will be held on Wednesday at 2 pm at First United Church, St. Thomas with visitation one hour before.

 

 

FESTIVITIES AT SCHOOLS THIS WEEK

 

(Principal Kim Simpson) – The Davenport PS We Club sold rafiki bracelets and raised enough money to “buy” 8 goats. Student Council is running a canned food drive again this year. We have our holiday concert on Tuesday from 6-7 pm with canned goods also being accepted that night. A final assembly will be held on Friday morning and then regular routines for the rest of the day, with some teachers doing a class party.

(Principal Francine Yalkowski) – Port Burwell PS is having a traditional turkey dinner for students on Wednesday and our Holiday Concert on Wednesday at 6 pm. We are having a staff versus students volleyball game on Thursday and wearing our Holiday Spirit clothing. On Friday we are having a carol sing. The canned food drive is on as well.

(Principal Lisa Trewin) At Straffordville PS, we already had our Christmas concert (December 13). Our canned food drive runs from December 1 to 19. Red and green day is on Friday.

(Principal Patricia Tomico)  At Summers Corners PS, we held our Christmas concert on Wednesday. Tomorrow is our Christmas Lunch for all staff and students. Christmas Sweater Day is Wednesday with a Carol Sing in the gym at 11 am. Friday is Red and Green Day with a 9 am Carol Sing in the gym. The canned food drive was completed earlier.

(Principal Charlotte Wall) – At McGregor PS, on Tuesday is our Gr. 1,2 Christmas Concert; on Wednesday is our Gr. 3,4 Concert; on Thursday is our Kindergarten Concert; on Friday is red, green, jingle and PJs and a 9:30 assembly. Kindergartens are selling homemade ornaments to raise funds for the toy drive. The Canned food drive is until Wednesday.

(Principal Darlene Charrette) At Assumption our K to Gr. 4 concert was postponed from last week and is now Wednesday at 6 pm.  Our Advent Mass followed by a Christmas lunch is Thursday at OLOS Church beginning at 10:30. The Bells & Band performance for Gr 3-8 will be Friday at 10:30 at the school. We did a canned food drive at Thanksgiving.

(Principal Keith Cameron) At Immanuel Christian, on Wednesday at 9 am and 7 pm we are doing a Celebration of Art and Music.
