“CAR FLIPPED IN AYLMER ACCIDENT”
(AYLMER) – (Police Report) “Yesterday at 9:30 am Aylmer police responded to a two vehicle accident at Myrtle and Spruce St.W. Upon arrival one of the vehicles was overturned on a yard on Myrtle St. An injured female had exited her vehicle and required transportation to EG Hospital. It was determined that the injured woman, age 25 of Aylmer, was driving alone in her 2009 Hyundai SUV NB on Myrtle St. She failed to stop at the stop sign at Spruce St.W. and was struck on the passenger door by an WB 2009 Ford Van driven by a 42 year old female from Listowel. The Ford van had 4 children inside, all uninjured. The impact caused the Hyundai to rollover and come to rest 20 m. north of the impact area. Police called in specialty investigators and the matter is still under investigation. The injured driver was released from hospital by mid afternoon.”

“OPP LAY CHARGES IN VIENNA ASSAULT”
(Vienna On) – (Police Report) “The Elgin County OPP has charged three people following an assault complaint in Vienna, late Monday afternoon. At 4:30pm a 20 year old man from Vienna was confronted by a 21 year old male acquaintance over a small debt that was owed. During the confrontation the victim was punched in the face by this male before escaping. A short time later, as the victim walked down the Plank Road, he was confronted by two other acquaintances, a 20 year old male and a 19 year old female over the same debt issue. The victim was then threatened with baseball bats and struck in the back with one bat that was thrown at him as he tried to escape. As the victim fled he had to avoid being struck by a red pickup truck being driven by the second male. OPP officers attended and subsequently arrested and charged:
Charles PEARSON age 21 from Norfolk County with Assault and Uttering death threats; Justin KALMBACH age 20 from Norfolk County with Criminal negligence and Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace; and Kimberly STARLING age 19 of Bayham with Assault with a weapon and Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace. All were held for bail hearings in St Thomas Court.”
