TVDSB: BACKPACKS FOR KIDS
Information from Chantal McLaughlin, of the Supplies for Students program operated by the TVDS Board: “The campaign is run by volunteers in London and we work to meet the needs of families in both the Thames Valley District and London District Catholic no matter where they are located in the school board area. We ask the principals in each school to express how many backpacks they need. We prep the backpacks to be available for the principals to pick up so they can distribute them discreetly to the kids this week or on the first day of school. We don’t have a drop off spot for our specific initiative in Aylmer; however Staples in St. Thomas is working with a local community groups doing the same thing we are and supplies will get to students in your area if dropped off there.”
SOUTHWEST SOCCER: AYLMER 3 SHEDDEN 1
AYLMER – Aylmer FC won the first game of their two game-total goals Southwest Soccer semi-finals last night here by a 3-1 count. Scorers were Cody Benner with 2 and Craig Vanymeren with 1. The second game is Thursday in Shedden.
BADDER BUSSES SET FOR TUESDAY
(From Dave Cryderman of Badder Busses, Aylmer) – “There have been some minor changes in bus routes for the 2012-2013 school year but basically most are the same and we are ready to launch buses on September 4th. This would be a good time to remind parents/ guardians that they must be at the transportation designated bus stop with their JK and SK students for both the morning and afternoon bus run.”
