ONE YEAR LATER: FM RADIO IN ST.THOMAS
(Information from Rob Mise, General Manager.) – The MyFM 94.1 Radio Station in St.Thomas has been on air almost a year now. It is housed in the Grand Central Building at the west end of the city. There are 12 MyFM radio stations across Ontario, mostly in small market towns and cities – the two owners are in Ottawa. Strathroy is the next closest station. The station has 9 local employees. Their signal is directed mainly to the city but can be heard off and on in Pt. Stanley, Aylmer and London. It is also available online as they have a music/news website. Their music is 80s, 90s, focusing on Pop Adult tunes and are on air continuously. They also have a 60′s Oldies show along with a Joe Preston show on Sunday mornings. They maintain a news department and have a commercial events cruiser. It is actually 20 years since St.Thomas/Elgin has had this kind of regular radio programming.
